Flute Studio contract grading- “B”
1 Make a sustained and dedicated effort to improvement, assessing progress frequently with Alexa.
2 Attend all lessons.
3 Attend studio class regularly—not missing more than one studio class per semester.
4 Perform in studio class at least three times per semester (as arranged on the roster)
5 Submit a flute notebook, due the last day of classes.
6 Submit a recorded etude (due the last day of classes) or perform a degree recital as appropriate.
7 First and second year students complete a jury at the end of the Spring semester.
8 Make every effort to attend fellow flute students’ degree recitals, wind faculty and guest flutist’s recitals (include commentary in your notebook that demonstrates your attendance).
9 Look after school instruments impeccably; cleaning out and wiping off all fingerprints after every use etc. Please notify Alexa immediately if something appears to be broken.
Flute studio contract grading– “A”
All of the above for a “B” grade plus:
1 Participate in every studio class by offering “constructive
criticism” of at least one supportive and substantive verbal comment per class.
2 Perform in one of the flute studio recitals and at least one divisional recital.
3 Enhance your flute notebook with 7 additional sections (see specifics under flute notebooks in syllabus):
4 Make every effort to attend all concerts involving your flute playing colleagues (Add commentary to your notebook that demonstrates your attendance)
5 Participate regularly in orchestral excerpts class, or make some sustained effort on an individual project (as agreed with Alexa) throughout the semester.
